Thoughts on fake tan
It may be called fake tan but that doesn't mean you have a fake appearance.
A tan can suit people with blonde hair and allows you to be creative with make-up.
The word fake doesn't exactly portray nice happy thoughts, in fact you could go as far as saying that the word fake isn't very nice at all, with all of its negative connotations. That's probably why most people prefer the term self tan or sunless tan. Well if you do decide to apply a little tan that doesn't mean that you are a fake person or that you strive to look like an orange-tinged celeb. In fact post 2010 has seen the birth of the natural sunless tan, that may be a contradiction but it is so true. Gone are the days when orangutan orange was the height of fashion, nowadays we welcome the honey glows and beach bronzes.
Applying a bit of sunless tanner is only as fake as applying a bit of make-up, and I can safely say that all of the women and even some of the men that I know all wear make-up. The key is to not go overboard, that whole 'less is more' phrase fits in perfectly here. Striving to look like a halloween pumpkin on the other hand is not so cool.
Also tanning doesn't always have to be a D.I.Y activity, more and more salons are now giving you the option to go and get tanned, whether they apply you with a developing lotion or give you a spray tan. Having a professional spray tan also gives you more options in terms of your natural skin tone so if you are pale you can opt for a lighter shade whereas darker shades can go for a deeper shade.
Of course, fake tanning could also be considered as a healthy alternative to sunbeds and basking yourself in the harmful UV rays. You can get a nice natural-looking glow without compromising your health or skin quality as UV rays are known to age the skin.
